A very grumpy "I'm leaving now," Made Dayvid sigh with relief.  His son Matt had recently been grounded since he had been causing trouble with the police, as he was showing off his new darker side.  Moonlight Falls was a strange town, mainly filled with family.  Everyone here was a supernatural, and if you were born normally, you'd soon get used to it in no time.  Things became different when Bambi arrived at school when Dayvid was the same age as Matt.  She had arrived with completely normal parents, so she wasn't a Supernatural in the slightest.  Dayvid was a vampire, so seeing pure blood not only made his mouth water, but also his heart throb.  She was stunning.
Dayvid made everything attempt he could to speak to Bambi, and eventually on graduation day, he proposed to Bambi who wholeheartedly said yes.  Since then they've had two beautiful children, Matt, who's now 18, and little Penny who's 3.  Matt was born with the powers of a werewolf, and since he'd got them he's been causing nothing but trouble.  He stays out late, causes trouble for the police and Dayvid's had enough.  His family is on a small budget, what with Bambi out of work, and Dayvid only just clinging to his job.  He's been in the same house since he and Bambi moved in with each other, meaning they've all been living in a small one bedroom house.  The bathroom was connected to the kitchen/ living room and the bedroom, so essentially there were only two rooms in the whole house.  They all managed to squeeze into one bed when Matt was little, but since then they've had to force Matt to sleep on the sofa.  The money that they have earned so far is enough to buy a house similar to the one they are living in, and Dayvid is almost at the point where he is going to turn to Matt and say, "Here, I've bought you your own house, you're on your own now."  However Dayvid knows he can't do that, instead he puts up with Matt's huffs and puffs till he knows Matt can at least leave home and be able to look after himself.
As the front door slammed, Dayvid leaned over, kissed the top of Bambi's head, and rolled out of bed, where he would get ready for another dreary day of work.
Another bad factor of where Dayvid worked was that it was right next to the school.  When Matt caused a fuss, he'd know about it before someone knocked on his office door to ask him to take Matt home, which Dayvid dreads.  Not because it's the same routine every week, but because the knocking of the door haunts him like that one day he nearly lost his son.

A year ago, and the weather reporter on the TV was holding onto a rail, trying to stop herself from being carried away in the wind.  She was saying about how today the hurricane which was causing disruption across town was starting to die down.
"To be honest, she could say that everyday but there's no way I can see that this is getting worse." Bambi said as she stood by the window, watching yet another tree from across the road fall down.  "Matt, the bus is coming, are you ready?"  The bus for school had a spell put on it by the local witches to ensure children could still get to school; however parents were informed that having the time off school was acceptable if they didn't feel it safe.  Since the school was far safer than their house Dayvid decided to make Matt go, despite the shouts, the thrown table and many man protests.  Penny had gone to live with some friends of Bambi's, the Hunts, for the time being.  Their house was a lot safer, and Penny seemed to get along with their daughter Jazzy, so everyone benefitted from it.
"Bambi I'm going to try to get to work today, we're really low on money, and if the house gets damaged we're going to need to pay for supplies to fix the house."  Dayvid could see reluctance in Bambi's eyes, but she nodded regardless.  "I'm going to go and get ready."
Half an hour later and Dayvid was ready to leave.  He kissed Bambi goodbye, and made the long trek across town to work.  There many blown over trees, cars were tipped on their sides, and a lot of houses were boarded up, despite the cracks where you could see a hint of light pouring out.  When Dayvid eventually got to work, he switched into his usual routine.  Make himself some coffee, sit at his desk, switch on his PC, and wait a year whilst sipping coffee until it's switched on, at which point he would then make another cup of coffee to replace the one wasted by his pc.
This morning was different, it was quiet.  The usual sound of sarcastic and angry comments flying their way around the office were replaced by the sound of the kettle boiling, the fan of his pc, and his own breath.  He could still hear the similar sounds of the school next door, but that too was different.  The voices sounded concerned, and someone was screaming.  That was when Dayvid began to worry.  He knew exactly when to worry, because every time he had done, something had gone wrong.  The question this time, was what?
"Dayvid! Dayvid!"  Someone was screaming his name.  As he rose from his desk chair, the door slammed open.  "Dayvid the school bus crashed on the way here!"
Without a word, Dayvid was out of the door sprinting as hard as he could, till he could feel the burn of each step.  He didn't dare slow down as he barged others out of the way, some people huffing when papers got knocked to the floor and some people gasping as they nearly were crashed into.  Being a vampire, Dayvid had a huge advantage.  Speed.  He raced out of the main doors of the building, knocked his boss to the floor but carried on as he shouted after him.  The only thing on his mind was Matt.
Matt.
Matt.
Matt.
Dayvid only stopped running when his foot caught something causing him to fall straight to the floor.  Looking to see what he tripped over, he saw a young girl.  He didn't know who she was, but before he could look to see her face, he was being pulled to his feet by police men, as they were politely telling him to step back.
"My son is in there! My son! Matt! Matt!" Using all of his strength Dayvid managed to break free from the policemen's grasps and ran towards the school bus thrown to its side.  Climbing inside Dayvid scanned the children's faces trying to recognise the one he so desperately wanted to see.
"Oi, you in there! If you want to be helpful start pulling the kids through!" Turning, Dayvid saw the police officer poking his head through one of the windows.  Dayvid started to unbuckle seatbelts, slowly lifting the children  out of their seats and handing them to the police officers lining up to get the kids outside.
As soon as the last of the kids were out, a thought came to Dayvids mind.  If Matt wasn't inside the bus, he must have been thrown from it.  Dayvid climbed out of the bus, numb with fear.  He'd seen all of the films where bus crash scenes occurred.  The ones thrown never survived.  He sat down next to the bus as he felt tears begin to sting his eyes.  He hardly noticed someone come along, put a blanket around his shoulders and guide him towards one of the ambulances.  He was sat down on the flap of the ambulance and was handed some coffee which he held just for the warmth rather than tasting it.
"Dad?"  The one voice echoed through his mind as he thought about memories with his son.  "Dad!" Suddenly the voice felt much clearer, more real.  Bringing himself back to the living, Dayvid found himself looking in the eyes of his son.  He let the coffee fall to the floor, making a soft thud as it hit the grass.  Without thinking, he embraced his son as tightly as he could and let the tears roll down his cheeks.  "It's okay Dad, I'm okay."
The idea for this came to me while I was playing The Sims 3, so decided to write it ;w;
